Four Weeks of Giving: Lowe's Heroes Give Holiday Surprise to Local Nonprofits in Five Cities Across America

$200,000 given to community centers, schools, homeless shelters and other nonprofits for critical needs

MOORESVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- You'd better watch out for Santa's helpers - Lowe's Heroes may be in your community making wishes come true this holiday season for local nonprofits organizations in need. Over the next four weeks, Lowe's Heroes will descend upon Philadelphia, Charlotte, Miami, Albuquerque and Los Angeles to surprise local organizations with large gift cards for special projects, updates and repairs at their facilities as part of the Lowe's Heroes Giving Coast to Coast campaign.

The total donation will reach $200,000 for organizations that make a difference for people and communities in the cities where Lowe's employees live and work.

Lowe's Heroes is a company-wide volunteer initiative that offers Lowe's employees the opportunity to engage with local nonprofit organizations for community projects that help make their communities better places to live, work and play. Lowe's Heroes will not only surprise the groups with sizeable donation but will also take part in a volunteer project on the day of the gift as well as assist in the execution of the projects, repairs and updates planned by the organizations.

    --  Tuesday, Dec. 13 Charlotte
    --  Monday, Dec. 19 Los Angeles
