Lowe's Customers Answer Call to Action by Donating More Than $630,000 to Red Cross Haiti Relief
MOORESVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Lowe's Companies Inc. (NYSE: LOW) announced today customers donated more
than $630,000 to the Red Cross to aid efforts in Haiti. All 1,700 stores
in the United States and Canada opened as customer donation sites on
Wednesday, Jan. 13, the same day Lowe's made a $1 million donation to
the American Red Cross International Response Fund for Haiti relief
efforts.
Donations totaled $605,683 in the United States, and customers from
Lowe's Canada stores donated $24,518 to the Canadian Red Cross Haiti
Earthquake Fund. In support of the Canadian Red Cross Haiti relief
efforts the Canadian Government has pledged to match all contributions
up to $50 million. Donations were collected through Friday, Feb. 12.

employees for their generous donations to help our neighbors in Haiti,"
said Robert A. Niblock, Lowe's chairman and chief executive officer. "We
all know someone who has been affected directly or indirectly by the
earthquake, and Lowe's continues to support Haiti as people look toward
rebuilding their homes and their nation."
Since partnering with the Red Cross in 1999, Lowe's and its customers
have contributed nearly $21 million for disaster relief.
