Following the devastating wildfires that struck Maui in August of 2023, 2,000 homes were lost. With 4,000 people currently living in shelters, housing solutions are in demand. The Lowe's Hometowns grant will provide funding to establish the infrastructure (grading, paving, solar power) for a community of tiny homes to be used as temporary housing, as well as the installation of the first two tiny homes on the property and be a reprieve for the horrible and inadequate conditions this community is facing.
