Where can you house 22 football fields all under one roof?
Lowe’s new direct fulfillment center (DFC) in Coopertown, Tennessee. By 2023, Lowe’s expects to have approximately 600 employees at the facility. That’s the equivalent of roughly 13 percent of Coopertown’s population.
The facility broke ground back in August of 2016 and plans to have its grand opening later this year. The DFC will ship parcel packages directly to Lowe’s customers and also ultimately service more than 1,750 stores and 15 of Lowe’s regional distribution centers.

A few more facts about the DFC:
- -It contains approximately 1,800 tons of HVAC
- -It has 33 shipping doors
- -It uses hydrogen fuel to power its forklift fleet
