AR/VR technology that gives customers confidence to tackle their projects
Lowe’s Innovation Labs Holoroom Test Drive has been named a 2018 Auggie Awards winner for Best Enterprise Solution. Holoroom Test Drive is a fully-immersive, multi-sensory product experience that allows Lowe’s customers and associates to try out power equipment in a safe, virtual space.
The experience is complete with a custom-made controller that has true-to-life weight and haptics. The experience, which has been traveling across the country this year, aims to improve a customers’ willingness to try out new products, ease decision-making and even provide safety and professional usage tips.
“Visualization is a critical component in home improvement and a barrier Lowe’s Innovation Labs is breaking down through powerful virtual and augmented reality tools. We are focused on creating next generation in-store experiences that empower our customers and associates with the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to take on new projects,” added Olivia Myers, Producer at Lowe’s Innovation Labs, who has been traveling with the experience.
More than 50 brands vied for the title of Best Enterprise Solution and Holoroom Test Drive was selected by a combination of public voting plus an expert panel of impartial judges. Winners were presented during the Auggie Awards Ceremony on May 31, 2018 during the ninth annual AWE (Augmented World Expo) USA 2018.
