2020 may have thrown more tricks than treats our way this year, but that isn’t stopping folks from finding some holiday fun. In fact, more Americans may be upping their Halloween décor this year specifically because many common traditions are being scaled back due to COVID caution.
According to the National Retail Federation, 53% of Americans celebrating Halloween in 2020 plan to decorate their home. That’s up 4% from 2019.
But if you’re over the orange and ready to pass on the pumpkins, Lowe’s has plenty of other Halloween-themed décor options that are a little less traditional. Lowe’s trend expert Caroline Harmon suggests trying out greens and purples as a slightly different holiday color scheme.
“Consider adding purple string lights to your outdoor display, or place a green-and-white pumpkin on your front stoop for extra curb appeal,” Harmon said. “I also love these multi-colored candle holders from Lowe’s Day of the Dead collection, which have a skeleton etching on the front to bring the holiday look together.”
And if ghostly gourds aren’t your thing, try decorations that involve bats, ghosts or trees. Or, reinvent the Jack-O-Lantern look by forgoing the pumpkin for some galvanized luminaries instead.
If all else fails – inflate! Lowe’s has an incredible variety of inflatables for Halloween this year like the Universal Studios Monsters Collection and, exclusive to Lowe’s, a number of Disney inflatables.
