Draft week marks a pivotal moment for NFL prospects, but while aspiring athletes of this year’s Draft anticipated hearing their names called and donning team jerseys, Lowe's Pros were diligently at work behind the scenes, constructing the stage and green room for the incoming rookies. Tasked with significant responsibility, these Pros received a morale boost when NFL first-round pick Drake Maye made a surprise visit to lend a hand. Joined by Lowe's red vest associates, Maye visited the Draft site to provide the Pros with essential tools, safety gear, and materials needed to build the stage and green room from scratch. Equipped with thousands of items from Lowe's inventory, including hard hats, screwdrivers, power tools, and paint, these dedicated workers transformed raw materials into the stage where Maye and numerous other NFL hopefuls took their memorable walk into professional football.
In addition to celebrating his transition to the NFL, the future New England Patriots Quarterback Drake Maye has joined Lowe's exclusive roster of NFL Home Team players alongside stars like Running Back Christian McCaffrey, Tight End Travis Kelce, Quarterback Bryce Young, Offensive Tackle Kelvin Beachum and Quarterback Dak Prescott.
The excitement of Draft Week continued as Maye not only surprised local Detroit contractor Dave D'Agostino with an invitation to the NFL Draft, on behalf of Lowe's. Dave attended the week's event, but the touchdown moment was when he announced a Draft pick on the big stage.
For Lowe’s to give me this opportunity, it really shows the appreciation and loyalty they have for their Pros. Besides being a Lowe's PROvider the past few years, I’ve also been a proud Lowe’s customer since I started my business over twenty years ago. We share a lot of the same values – hard work, quality, and commitment to our customers and community. Of all the draft experiences I’ve had the past few weeks, my favorite was working with Volunteers of America to give back to our local vets. I’m proud to be part of the “Lowe’s family” and doing business with a company that recognizes without our vets, we wouldn’t have the freedoms we all take for granted.
Drake Maye's commitment to community service, in line with the spirit of the Lowe’s Home Team, was demonstrated through his collaboration with red vest associates in Detroit. Their joint volunteer project, focusing on interior and exterior renovations for the Volunteers of America Michigan's Detroit Veterans Housing Program, in partnership with the NFL, is a testament to their dedication to the community. The organization, which provides crucial resources and services to veterans, seniors, and families in need, will significantly benefit from their joint efforts in landscaping and constructing new shelves for the food pantry, highlighting the importance of philanthropy and community involvement.
