Watch hundreds of Pros build the NFL Draft set using lumber from Lowe’s
Nashville. A city known for its country music and soon, for its love of sports. Last year, more than 20,000 fans packed Broadway Street in Nashville, Tennessee to see their team’s new uniforms, an event that convinced the NFL to announce the city as the host of the 2019 NFL Draft.
What better city to welcome a select few athletes to the big stage and showcase the brand-new partnership between Lowe’s and the NFL. As the exclusive Home Improvement Retail Sponsor of the NFL, Lowe’s rolled up its sleeves to help build the set for the NFL Draft.
Lowe’s and the NFL teamed up to supply lumber used to build various areas of the Draft – including the “Draft Green Room Built by Lowe’s,” the Draft Main Stage and elements of the NFL Draft Experience.
After months of planning, the lumber was staged at the beginning of April. Twelve of the 20 truckloads were delivered by Lowe’s. That comes out to just over 3,500 4X6 pieces of lumber and more than 1,500 sheets of plywood, which is enough to cover 39,525 square feet.
As the build started, local Lowe’s associates visited the site to thank the local Pro builders working on site. The associates also donated assorted safety gear and tools to help the Pros building the stages and sets.
Just days before the draft, about 40 Lowe’s Heroes volunteers from the Nashville region built 100 picnic tables to be used at the NFL Draft Experience. Following the Draft, these picnic tables will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville as well as Metro Nashville Public Schools.
Lowe’s is committed to serving its communities and is excited to partner with the NFL to connect with fans across the country. Now, the stage is set and the teams are “on the clock”…. it’s time to bring on the Draft!
