Employees help each other through donations to LERF, which provides aid to employees facing financial hardship

Employees across Lowe’s are raising their hands and stepping up to support employees in Texas through the Lowe’s Employee Relief Fund (LERF). Lowe’s is doubling the company match for LERF, starting with the day Hurricane Harvey made landfall and continuing through the end of the year.

LERF provides support to employees and their immediate family members who have suffered a significant, unforeseen financial hardship. Employees who have suffered damage to their homes and property apply for assistance through this fund. Since the program’s inception in 1999, LERF has contributed $29 million in assistance to more than 26,000 employees and their immediate family members. Lowe’s traditionally matches each contribution dollar-for-dollar, and will now match donations 2-to-1.

Lowe’s sprang into action before the storm made landfall, and teams are working to continue serving the impacted communities.

Lowe’s Heroes volunteers in impacted areas are already on the ground in some of the hardest hit areas. And starting September 4, nearly 400 specially trained employees from around the country will activate storm recovery teams to help the impacted areas.
