Lowe's Home Team is back in 2021 with legendary quarterback Drew Brees as general manager

Apr 30, 2021

Lowe’s today announced its Home Team is coming back for a second season to help make homes better for all in communities nationwide.

This time, legendary New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will serve as general manager of the Home Team. The newly retired NFL star is a Super Bowl Most Valuable Player and Pro Bowler, who is known as much for his leadership on the field as in the community. Brees and his wife, Brittany, have contributed over $45 million to help children and families in need through the Brees Dream Foundation.

Lowe’s today has also announced it has “drafted” NFL prospects Justin Fields and Najee Harris to the Lowe’s Home Team as the real NFL Draft occurs, a time when players learn which of the 32 NFL communities they’ll make their new home.

Brees, Fields, Harris, and nine other Home Team players yet to be announced will partner with hundreds of Lowe’s associates and non-profits to make homes better for all by coming together to give back to communities around the country.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the general manager for Lowe’s 2021 Home Team,” said Brees. “My goal is to help lead and inspire current and former players — like Justin and Najee — to get in the game with me and Lowe’s to bring attention to local communities that may need our help in projects where we can make a real difference.”

In its inaugural season, Lowe’s 2020 Home Team supported rebuilding and community-focused projects in all 32 NFL markets. In partnership with non-profits across the country, more than 70 Lowe’s stores participated donating more than 4,000 volunteer hours. The Home Team partnered with Rebuilding Together to take on critical home repairs, including replacing roofs, AC units and water heaters, and installing hurricane-impact windows and wheelchair ramps in historic homes in Tampa. Thousands of active military and veterans, a special focus for the season, also benefited from the projects. The 2020 Home Team capped the season helping donate more than one million Christmas trees to families nationwide.
