Tool Test: Pro demos products available through new Tool Rental Program

Aug 28, 2020

You probably wouldn’t buy a new car if you were only going to use it once, right? So why buy a more expensive, larger tool if you only need it once or twice? Lowe’s looked to solve this problem for DIYers and Pros alike by launching a new Tool Rental Program.

The company celebrated the grand opening of its first tool rental department at one of its Charlotte, North Carolina stores on Friday and it plans to expand the program across the U.S. over the next several years.

Lowe’s Tool Rental features a brand-new fleet of commercial-grade equipment with a broad assortment of products spanning power tools, ladders, floor care, lawn care, portable power and so much more.

With trusted brands like Husqvarna, Bosch and Metabo HPT, both DIY and Pro customers can expect quality tools to help get the job done right without the hassle of having to store and maintain them.

To put these tools to the test, Lowe’s asked Demi Clark, a local Pro, to demo a few on a farm pavilion she’s helping to update at Carolina Farm Trust. Demi’s worked in the construction industry for over 20 years and understands the importance of having the right tool to maximize efficiency.

How to Rent

Customers can easily rent tools by making an online reservation:

  • Receive a rental request confirmation email with next steps
  • Pick up rental tool with valid ID and credit card

Customers can also stop by Lowe’s Tool Rental to make a reservation in-person using the self-service kiosk. Prices will vary based on the type of tool or equipment and length of the rental – half day, full day or weekly.
