Store associates showcase a day in the life of a busy bee
One Virginia store is buzzing with excitement after a Lowe’s team helped to reunite a young patron and her beloved stuffed bumblebee, Buzby.
Five-year-old Grace House lost the stuffed animal within her first five minutes in the store. Buzby was missing for about two months before being discovered in the seasonal department, according to Krystal Gilbert, an appliance specialist for Lowe’s.
Gilbert scheduled the surprise reunion for Grace and Buzby with just enough time to document the bumblebee’s brief stay at Lowe’s. Sporting a tiny red vest, Buzby was captured in action—watering flowers, mixing paint, assisting customers, and even operating a forklift. One might say he was quite a busy bee.
The day the House family returned to the store was, well, sweeter than honey.
“Grace sheepishly asked me if anyone had found her little bee,” said Gilbert. “I was able to tell her that her bee had been found, that he had his own Lowe’s vest, and that he had been very helpful in his two-month stay at Lowe’s!”
A photo album signed by store associates serves as a memory for Grace of Buzby’s days in a red vest.
“Ultimately, the best part of this whole situation was seeing Grace’s excitement when she was finally reunited with her special little bee,” said Gilbert.
