Halfway through 2024, most people would be hard-pressed to remember the goals they optimistically made in January. Not so for Ricardo Green, a customer service associate in lawn and garden. He's crushing Lowe's customer service goals and has racked up the company's most service star badges this year. Here's the kicker: Ricardo has only worked at Lowe's for four months and has 40 badges pinned to his vest.

My favorite part is talking to people, helping them out, and making sure everyone is taken care of.

Ricardo's stellar service record can undoubtedly be attributed to some innate personality traits; he's quick to smile, has a sunny disposition and genuinely cares about everyone who walks through the doors of the Kingsland, Georgia store. He also credits his family with instilling values that help him spread positivity to everyone he meets.

A quote my dad told me is that no matter what you're doing, try your best. Always be nice to people because you have no idea what anyone could be going through.

Keaton Thomas is the store manager of the Kingsland store where Ricardo works, and it's no coincidence that one of the company's customer service stars comes from his store. He says giving customers a great experience is a value he shares with his associates.

Without customer service, you don't have a business. Lowe's preaches this, and we practice it. Take it back to old school. The way I was raised, you take care of your customers.

Ricardo is a product of that training, and Keaton couldn't be prouder. He says of Ricardo, "He's the mascot of the store, and it's snowballed into something positive. It's great customer service through a smile and being known throughout the store, and he's only been here four months."

Ricardo is setting the standard for customer service, and his achievements in such a short time prove that a positive attitude and genuine care can make all the difference.
