Meet the Merchant is a new series spotlighting the merchants shaping the seasons at Lowe’s. First up: Molly Williamson, the seasonal merchant behind Trim-A-Tree, who says the real magic is how the category makes people light up — literally and figuratively.

Meet Molly

Molly Williamson has spent nearly four years at Lowe’s across assortment planning and merchandising, and now she leads Trim-A-Tree. What keeps her hooked? “How much happiness it brings people,” she says. “It’s seeing the posts, the in-store tryouts with kids, and everyone’s face lighting up. You also get to flex your creative side by spotting what’s trending and bringing it to the home improvement space.”

Tree Trends to Watch

This season, twinkle is the word. “The most popular tree is anything that twinkles,” Molly says. Enter the New Kensington, already a customer favorite. It offers dual twinkle meaning it twinkles in warm white AND multicolor — for a glow that shifts with the mood. Consider it the star of the living room.

Decor That's Delightfully Nostalgic

Welcome to the Christmas core movement. Animatronics rooted in classic characters are flying off shelves. Case in point: Bumble and his merry band of friends are already a runaway hit in early reads. Molly says the team brought back Bumble and introduced his friends, and the response has been huge.

A Few More Sparks

  • Blow molds are back. The retro icons are surging as families lean into familiar shapes and warm glow.
  • Critters that charm. Dogs remain top sellers in outdoor decor, joined by a rotating cast of whimsical animals.

  • Brand moments that matter. Lowe’s exclusive Tree Classics by Balsam Hill brings a beloved name into reach, giving customers premium looks at great value.

Trim-A-Tree is where joy meets design, and Molly’s team is focused on curation that feels fresh without losing the heart of the holiday. It is about helping customers create homes that feel festive, personal and unmistakably theirs — whether that’s a dual twinkle showstopper or a retro blow mold on the porch.
