On a sunny Saturday, Lowe's associates, customers, and neighbors gathered at Camptown’s Base Camp in Indianapolis. With paint brushes, shovels and lots of heart, they refreshed a place where local kids can find adventure and build confidence.

Volunteers painted, planted and revitalized every corner of the camp, from the gym and shower house to new trees and gathering spaces, making Camptown feel even more like a home away from home.

"We believe in the power of strong communities, and we know that's not something that happens on its own. It's something you build together," said Lindsey Haigler, Lowe's vice president of associate and community engagement. "That's what made this project so special. Seeing Lowe's associates, customers and community partners come together to invest in Camptown will create a lasting impact for Indianapolis youth and families."

These updates mean more kids in Indianapolis can hike, camp, and learn outdoors. Camptown's programs help young people grow, build confidence, develop leadership, and form a bond with nature.

“Camptown for me has always been a place of peace,” said former camper Kaiden Jackson. “Just being able wake up and breathe this fresh air and step away from the stresses of life. It’s just been a really positive place."

Since 1991, Camptown has partnered with schools and community groups to give more kids outdoor experiences. Saturday's project is another way Lowe's is helping build stronger, more connected communities, one brushstroke at a time.

By day's end, the camp looked brighter: fresh paint, new landscaping, and welcoming spaces showed what happens when neighbors, customers and associates unite for the next generation.
