The Dawit family – like all Cowboys fans – has quickly fallen for wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

The rookie has been sensational, quickly adapting to the NFL and making jaw-dropping catches week after week. He’s making that same kind of impact off the field as well.

As a member of the Lowe’s Home Team, Lamb took part in surprising the Dawit family with $50K worth of critical home repairs. Lowe’s and the Cowboys each contributed $25,000 to support the project.

The home, which is the family’s first in America, was built more than 15 years ago, and Lowe’s and the Cowboys teamed up for the work on the home beginning in October.

That work included new floors throughout the house, new kitchen counters and appliances, and a complete bathroom refurbishment.

The family’s 15-year-old daughter submitted them for consideration. She is a member of the Boys & Girls Club, a connection shared with Lamb, who also grew up going to Boys & Girls Clubs.

But the family had no idea Lamb or the Cowboys were involved until a surprise virtual call came on November 10. As you can imagine, jaws dropped.

And there was more.

“I’ve been in your shoes before, my home’s been damaged before, and I actually have a gift for you guys to put inside your house,” Lamb told the family.

The star wide receiver then pulled out one of his signed jerseys to accompany a letter he wrote to the family. It’ll make for a nice piece of décor in their upgraded space. Lamb also invited the gleeful Dawits to a Cowboys game later this season before telling them about one more surprise outside. When the Dawits opened their front door, they found Rowdy, the Cowboys mascot, with Lowe’s volunteers to gift the family a new Honda lawnmower.

“It’s the least I could do,” Lamb said. “It makes my heart happy.”
