This summer, Lowe's and Habitat for Humanity brought neighbors together through service, celebrating five decades of helping families build safe, affordable places to call home.
The milestone celebration highlighted Habitat for Humanity's 50-year legacy of helping families build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable housing while celebrating more than two decades of partnership between Lowe's and Habitat. Community members across the country came together to support local Habitat affiliates through hands-on volunteer projects.
While every event looked a little different, each one gave neighbors a meaningful way to support their local Habitat affiliate. In Philadelphia, volunteers built Adirondack chairs for future Habitat homeowners. In Pineville, North Carolina, participants decorated nail aprons for volunteers and signed wall studs that will become part of future Habitat homes. In the Twin Cities, Minnesota, neighbors decorated welcome-home signs and built wooden toy boxes for Habitat families.
The volunteer events were just one example of how Lowe's continues to support Habitat's mission. Beyond the hands-on projects, Lowe's is investing more than $2 million through Habitat affiliates this year to fund critical home repairs, including roofing, HVAC systems and disaster preparedness upgrades, helping more families stay safe in the homes they love.
The celebrations reflected the power of neighbors coming together around a shared purpose. Whether building alongside friends, connecting with local Habitat volunteers or learning a new skill, participants left with a deeper understanding of Habitat's mission and the role they can play in supporting affordable housing in their communities.
Since its founding in 1976, Habitat for Humanity has helped millions of people around the world access safe, decent and affordable housing through home construction, rehabilitation and repair programs. Lowe's has supported Habitat's work for more than 20 years through volunteerism, financial contributions and product donations, helping communities recover from disasters, improve homes and expand affordable housing opportunities.
