This is what #BuildHer looks like across the nation
More than 18,000 women, including Lowe’s Heroes volunteers from across the country, put on hard hats, picked up hammers and volunteered at more than 300 construction sites nationwide as part of National Women Build Week (NWBW). In addition, volunteers participated in the #BuildHer movement to build up women in their community.
For eleven years, Habitat for Humanity has dedicated one week every year to focusing on women. NWBW is designed to encourage women to volunteer and help build affordable housing in their local communities.
Since 2003, Lowe’s has shared Habitat’s mission during NWBW and has committed more than $30M to help more than 6,500 Habitat partner families improve their living conditions. Lowe’s introduced a new campaign during the week-long effort: #BuildHer. Through the #BuildHer campaign, both Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity encouraged women and men across the country to join the conversation surrounding women’s equality.
