In partnership with the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada (BGCSNV) and SYNLawn, Lowe's is proud to unveil a transformative turf donation project at the James Boys & Girls Clubhouse. Lowe's gave 10,000 square feet of artificial turf to BGCSNV to create a vibrant and safe outdoor space that will significantly help the Club's members and the community.
The turf made possible by Lowe's and SYNLawn's generous donation from a football-themed activation at Lowe's annual store manager meeting in February 2024, is a significant stride towards providing an enhanced recreational area for the youth of Southern Nevada. Lowe's knew the best place for the turf would be the Boys and Girls Club, where it could benefit future generations of club kids.
Boy’s and Girl’s clubs have a special place in my heart. As someone who grew up in South Central Los Angeles, places like the Boy’s and Girl’s Club were more than just a building. They were places that kids like me could dream big. Whether that dream was to walk on the moon like mine, or to celebrate scoring the winning touchdown of the Superbowl in the Lowe’s end zone, I want to encourage all Club members to work hard, be positive and never quit, and you can make those big dreams become a reality.
The donation included demo, leveling, and landscaping of the turf area—including tree removal, irrigation, and installation. Andrew Bolshazy of the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada says the donation is a gift that will keep giving.
The turf installation at the James Clubhouse will not only provide a safe and vibrant space for kids in the community to play and thrive, but it also symbolizes the enduring partnership between Lowe's and Boys & Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada in shaping the futures of generations to come. Together, we are creating lasting impacts and nurturing the potential of our youth, paving the way for brighter tomorrows.
