Going to college is a goal for many families in the US. However, with college tuition on the rise nationwide, affording it also creates a burden for some families with limited resources. To help bridge that financial gap, Lowe’s created the Carl Buchan scholarship.

The Carl Buchan scholarship is funded via the Lowe’s Foundation, which awards $250,000 in scholarships to Lowe’s employees and dependents pursuing undergraduate degrees.

One of the recipients of The Carl Buchan scholarship is Andrew Smith, a student at Appalachian State. The video above shows the impact the Carl Buchan scholarship has on him and his father Scott, who is employed at Lowe’s.
