As the Charlotte, NC community reels from the tragic shooting of 8 law enforcement officers on Monday, April 29, including four who lost their lives, Charlotte leaders have made one request of the community and the nation – come together to support our local law enforcement.
Lowe's is taking that call to action to heart and hopes residents of Charlotte will too, showing solidarity in a small but significant gesture, shining a blue light on their front porch. Stores in the greater Charlotte area will be handing out 25,000 blue LED light bulbs for customers to pick up at no charge to shine a light on their front porches in support of the officers who lost their lives or were injured and their fellow law enforcement officers who have lost friends and colleagues in the line of duty.
Lowe's regional vice president Sean Reilly expressed his deepest sympathy to the officers' families.
Our hearts are broken for the families of the fallen officers, their fellow law enforcement officers and the greater Charlotte community. We are thankful for the community coming together to support those impacted by this tragedy.
Residents in the greater Charlotte region can pick up a free blue outdoor LED light bulb at Lowe's area stores beginning Saturday, May 4, until supplies last. Light bulbs can be picked up in the checkout area. No purchase is necessary.
