Families and Lowe’s volunteers celebrate yearlong Habitat for Humanity initiative with holiday revitalization event in Fort Worth

More than 1,000 families in 300-plus communities nationwide are enjoying the holidays in the comfort of their own homes. Lowe’s and Habitat for Humanity surpassed that milestone this month after working throughout the year to help families realize their dreams of safe and affordable homeownership in time for the holidays.

To celebrate the year-end milestone, more than 200 Lowe’s Heroes and Habitat for Humanity volunteers revitalized 58 homes while stringing Christmas lights across the Hillside Morningside neighborhood in Fort Worth, Texas.

Shelby Rico and her three children were among dozens of Fort Worth families taking part in the celebration. On Sunday, Rico and her kids will celebrate Christmas morning together for the first time in their very own home.
