As division president, Fred Stokes is responsible for the execution of sales, service and operational components of Lowe’s strategy across the West division. He joined Lowe’s in 2006.

Fred has 25 years of experience in the retail industry, with roles in operations, human resources and asset protection. He has held several leadership roles at Lowe's, most recently senior vice president, pro sales & services. He has also served as regional vice president, district manager, director of associate relations and vice president of human resources. Before joining Lowe's, he worked at Starbucks Corp. and Walmart Inc. 

Fred received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Governors State University and an MBA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. A former police detective and FBI agent, Fred served eight years in the U.S. Navy and sits on the board of governors for the USO. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council.
