That’s why Lowe’s is investing $100 million to restore and revitalize community spaces across the country through the Lowe’s Hometowns program. Each year through 2026, Lowe’s Hometowns will complete 100 signature projects chosen from consumer nominations, plus nearly 1,700 projects through Lowe’s stores, supply chain locations and store support centers across the country.
The Goal
Lowe’s is committed to mitigating climate change by pursuing our goal to reach net-zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050 across scopes 1,2 and 3.
As a home improvement retailer, we are focused on evolving our operations and working with our suppliers, our transportation partners and our customers to make meaningful changes to reduce emissions. Through strong collaboration, this challenging but critical work will drive improvements across our full value chain, ultimately making homes and communities better for all.
How We’ll Get There
To reach our goal, we have three areas of focus:
Electrification: Transitioning products and equipment from fossil fuels to electricity
Efficiency: Reducing the amount of energy required to operate products and equipment
Renewable energy: Leveraging solar, wind and other forms of renewable energy to power our products and equipment
