SPARK 618—Skills Pathways Accessibility Resilience Knowledge—is a Carbondale-based nonprofit connecting Southern Illinois residents with workforce training, clean energy career pathways, and community partnerships that help people build stable futures. With the Lowe’s Community Impact Grant, SPARK 618 will renovate approximately 1,000 square feet at the Eurma C. Hayes Community Center into the SPARK 618 Skilled Trades Learning Lab. These improvements will create a durable community training hub that supports Illinois Works pre-apprenticeship participants, Clean Energy CTE trainees, and CEJA Workforce Development Hub partners while helping residents build skills, access better wages, and strengthen long-term community prosperity.
