- Lowe’s gives out free meals and critical supplies to thousands impacted by Florence. Watch the video and hear from those who benefitted from the support.
- Lowe’s collaborates with Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, to respond and accelerate relief efforts in times of natural disaster. ROWW began working with Lowe’s, alongside Lowe’s Heroes, to clear access ways, remove dangerous trees, gut homes and assist with clean-up efforts at various community events. The group received necessary tools and gear from Lowe’s this week to begin cleanup efforts in areas devastated by Florence.

- Nearly 6,000 disaster relief buckets were loaded and shipped to four Lowe’s stores in North Carolina to help residents affected by the storms. The stores in New Bern, Jacksonville, and two store locations in Wilmington each hosted a community event Thursday where employees handed out buckets and warm meals to residents in need. Before the items were shipped, Lowe’s associates from the Regional Distribution Center who loaded the buckets wrote messages of support to the stores and customers who would benefit from the buckets.

- Lowe’s President and CEO Marvin Ellison visited stores in Wilmington and N.E. New Hanover, North Carolina on Tuesday. He spent time walking the stores and talking with associates who have been impacted by Florence. “I’m here to thank the store associates, thank them for their hard work and for putting in such long hours during this tough time,” Ellison said. “I’m impressed by and so thankful for the ways in which we’re taking care of each other, our customers and our communities.”

After a tornado touched down in Wilson County, North Carolina, the Wilson Lowe’s responded with needed supplies. Employees also delivered water and refreshments to the National Guard and utility crews while they served affected residents.

- Employee Relief Teams from Asheville, North Carolina and Greenville, South Carolina say goodbye to loved ones before departing for Lowe’s stores across the Carolinas impacted by Florence. Employee relief teams are groups of specially trained Lowe’s employees who deploy to areas affected by natural disasters, giving impacted employees a chance to focus on their families.

- Lowe’s Store Manager Vanessa Drew in Wilson, North Carolina made the day of a group of men and women in the National Guard. They visited her store to buy totes to wash their clothes in. That’s when she discovered they had been relocated due to flooding and hadn’t washed their uniforms in days, so she and her team decided to donate a washer to them. They delivered it along with laundry soap, cords and hoses, and helped them hook it up to their generator.

- Customers find needed products at the Lowe’s in Clayton, North Carolina. Many are evacuees from the coast, first responders and residents without power.
- Whiteville Lowe’s opened its doors to firefighters from the Kernersville Fire Department when no hotel rooms were available. Lowe’s managers offered the store’s training room for them to sleep in while they were in town to help.

- Lowe’s activates American Red Cross Disaster Relief donation program on Lowes.com
- More than 10,000 Lowe’s disaster relief buckets are staged and ready to be shipped to areas affected by the storm. Lowe’s Heroes will distribute them in the coming days and weeks to residents who are impacted.
- Lowe’s further supports associates by doubling the company’s match to the Lowe’s Employee Relief Fund which provides financial assistance to associates in times of crisis.

- More than 2,700 truckloads of critical supplies have now been shipped to impacted areas. Supplies from Lowe’s include things like generators, bottled water, sand, plywood, chainsaws, trash bags, gas cans and tarps.
- A team of 400 specially trained Lowe’s employees are standing by across Charlotte, the Carolinas and all the way up to West Virginia to deploy to areas hit by the storm, giving impacted employees a chance to focus on their families.
- Residents farther inland continue to prepare for the storm by purchasing essential supplies, such as generators.

- As Hurricane Florence approaches, Lowe’s customers in Wilmington, North Carolina gather last minute items in preparation for landfall. Bridget Baccaro saw a Facebook post that there were generators and rushed to the store.

- Lowe’s begins to ready employee relief teams to travel to areas affected by Florence. These employees leave Lowe’s stores in other areas to serve at impacted stores. Lowe’s pays for their expenses and labor, but associates volunteer for this assignment.

- As residents along the East Coast begin evacuating, people farther inland along the storm’s path are also preparing for Florence to make landfall. Many Lowe’s locations in central North Carolina have already seen an influx of shoppers buying water, generators, plywood and other emergency supplies.
