With the Lowe's Hometown Grant, FCSDC will make renovations to our Ralph Moses House transitional housing facility in Chester, Pennsylvania.
Children’s Homes of Iredell County is a foster care agency that is dedicated to empowering at-risk children and young adults, helping them overcome adversity and reach their full potential through evidence-based programs and family-modeled environments. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the agency will renovate an existing transitional living home by adding three bedrooms, a bathroom, and a kitchenette/social area, increasing capacity to serve up to six additional residents.
Cherry Street Mission Ministries provides essential support to individuals experiencing homelessness in Toledo, Ohio. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the Sparrows Nest Women’s Shelter will receive new commercial-grade flooring and fresh paint in key areas, improving safety and comfort for residents. These renovations will create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for the 600+ women who rely on the shelter each year.
Catholic Charities of West Tennessee (CCWTN) provides food, shelter, and essential services to individuals and families experiencing poverty and homelessness, empowering them to move toward stability and self-sufficiency. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, CCWTN will rebuild crumbling retaining walls, install concrete seating, replace outdated HVAC units, and enhance the property with landscaping and functional seating for those we serve.
Canopy Village is North Idaho’s only crisis respite and emergency shelter for youth, also providing residential treatment and family support services. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the facility will remove old flooring, mask windows, paint interior walls, and replace worn vinyl and carpet throughout its 35-year-old residential home, which serves up to twelve children at a time.
The Affordable Housing Alliance, a long-standing leader in providing safe and affordable housing for over 30 years, will renovate and enhance the Pine Tree Community Room and Playground with support from the Lowe’s Hometowns grant. The project includes a full kitchen update with new cabinets and flooring, interior painting, upgraded HVAC and electrical systems, and the reconstruction of an exterior accessibility ramp. In addition, the outdoor playground will be revitalized with new equipment and decking, creating a safe and engaging environment for families.
An organization that provides free home painting to low-income families wishes to paint as many houses as possible during an annual community event in August. The event, which unites hundreds of volunteers and brings people together not just to paint homes, but to uplift the community, is seeking paint and other supplies so the event’s volunteers have everything they need to do their valuable work.
A private nonprofit that provides educational, recreational, and social service opportunities to neighborhood residents seeks assistance in developing a village of tiny, energy-efficient homes to house those in need, with a specific focus on establishing a tool lending library stocked with tools and resources for members of the neighborhood to use to maintain or improve their homes, gardens or yards.
