Lowernine.org is dedicated to the long-term recovery of the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans. To further its mission and enhance its capacity, lowernine.org is building a sustainable work-live headquarters in the L9W. The first floor will provide workspace, multi-functional education, gathering and community spaces for lowernine.org, partner nonprofits, and community members. The upper two levels will provide year-round, well-equipped, modern housing where visiting volunteers can live safely and comfortably, receive good meals and medical care, and experience a sense of community.

Shreveport Green is dedicated to promoting a healthy, sustainable, and economically vital community through public outreach, community enhancement, and a specific respect for the natural and built environment.The project includes building a gazebo on the site to host dinners, presentations and demonstrations, as well as provide a respite area for volunteers. Plans also include adding a rain barrel collection system, some benches, a ceiling fan and the wiring for both fan and lights.

This project from focuses on playground safety for multiple reasons. The existing playground is located across from a busy street and next to both fire and police department entrances to the Municipal Building. Children must cross a busy street to enter the playground, and police and fire department emergency vehicles continuously come and go from the complex for emergency calls , which adds to the dangerous conditions. In addition, the playground is not ADA compliant or accessible, and it lacks proper fall protection surfacing under the playground equipment.

A Salvation Army chapter that provides shelter and resources that men need while they search for employment and permanent housing seeks to refurbish and repair its men’s dormitories, specifically the shower area where only one shower is functioning. The repairs will ensure clients have access to a clean, safe, and dignified space as they work to get back on their feet.

An overcrowded school seeks to construct an outdoor space for students to study and work individually or in groups, or to enjoy an outdoor lunch during the school day. The school hopes to make the space shaded so it can be a comfortable space to enjoy on hot days for students as well as community groups that use the school facility throughout the year.

A Boys & Girls Club clubhouse nestled in a low-income neighborhood seeks to renovate and update an older clubhouse which is worn from daily use so it can continue to operate as a safe place for children to meet and socially interact while promoting unity among neighborhood residents.

A nonprofit organization started by two teenage brothers with a goal to plant trees in an effort to positively impact the environment and improve the quality of life for area residents, wishes to replace trees that were lost and damaged as a result of the recent Texas winter storms. By planting and maintaining trees in the storm ravaged areas, they hope to reduce erosion and pollution in waterways and mitigate the effects of flooding.

A community seeks assistance in creating and revitalizing a green space in the heart of a city so it can reopen and invite the community back into a comfortable space where members can enjoy a vast array of events that will create lasting memories. It's part of a strategic plan to rejuvenate the downtown district making it a destination for residents and visitors alike.

A volunteer fire department seeks to make improvements to its fire hall which serves double duty housing firefighting equipment and functioning as a community hall. Upgrades focus on ensuring the building can serve as an emergency shelter if and when needed and allow the space to continue to be a gathering place for community and club events.

An organization that provides women with holistic trauma-informed and gender-specific care has purchased a new space that will allow it to expand its existing programming aimed to address and decrease the high rate of reincarceration for women after release from prison. The organization seeks assistance in completing expansion of its space to strengthen its offerings to women in need, especially women with mental health and substance abuse illness.
