A pocket park on the DuPage River for the residents of the Greenbrook Habitat for Humanity community will further Habitat’s philosophy to build up communities by bringing people together. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will provide a suitable gathering place for people to bring their children on a nice day and a community garden. This park will answer a need for the community and go a long way in creating true community spirit.

Project Compassion wants to refurbish its Free Cafe and Laundry facility's deck for access and safety. The accessible ramp leads to the organization's primary entrance. The organization also needs two new washers and dryers to help homeless mothers wash clothing, and they would like to add pantry shelving for families to take nonperishable meals home.

Webber Township Fire Protection District

The Webber Township Fire Protection District Volunteers is requesting materials to update their current training/meeting facility. The project would include paint, flooring, trim work, cabinets with sink, microwave and range, updated bathrooms with new units and fixtures, new interior doors and overall organization of the area including adding shelving, desks, blinds, chairs, tables, a couch and whiteboards.

A youth center in a town that has lost 30 children to gun violence and other trauma wishes to renovate its space so it can support teens and families with limited resources who are struggling to find extracurricular activities to keep them safe and off the streets. With a goal to bring positivity back to the community, the renovations will ensure the space is inviting and helping teens create a better lifestyle for their future.
