The Boys & Girls Clubs of Monmouth County Club has been a beacon of hope in Monmouth County, providing safe places where young minds are nurtured to reach their fullest potential for over 86 years. The organization's singular focus on youth development allows it to effect profound change in the lives of the children it serves, building a community where they can explore their interests in a safe and affirming environment. With the Lowe’s Hometown grant, the Club will make crucial interior renovations including new flooring throughout.

The Allamuchy-Green First Aid Squad is a fully volunteer emergency medical service dedicated to providing lifesaving care to its community. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the squad will modernize its facility by renovating its meeting room and updating outdated restrooms for improved privacy and functionality, enhancing energy efficiency, and creating a more welcoming space for volunteers. These renovations will help attract and retain members, ultimately improving emergency response times and benefiting the 11,000 residents and thousands of motorists who rely on its services.

The Affordable Housing Alliance, a long-standing leader in providing safe and affordable housing for over 30 years, will renovate and enhance the Pine Tree Community Room and Playground with support from the Lowe’s Hometowns grant. The project includes a full kitchen update with new cabinets and flooring, interior painting, upgraded HVAC and electrical systems, and the reconstruction of an exterior accessibility ramp. In addition, the outdoor playground will be revitalized with new equipment and decking, creating a safe and engaging environment for families.

"A Place to Call Home" will provide updates, repairs and enhancements and improve years of extensive wear and tear to transform its space and continue to provide a safe and supportive living environment for adults living with mental health disorders.

The Green Township Volunteer Fire Department will update the men’s and women’s bathrooms in the firehouse to not only make them ADA compliant, but repair fixtures and facilities that do not work. A demo of the current bathrooms would lead to bathrooms that are state and federal compliant for a long-term emergency facility. Energy Smart and Water Sense products will be central to the construction of this new space for volunteers.

East Brunswick Youth Council focuses on improving teen mental wellness within the community. This project will create a safe space for teens to focus on their mental wellbeing. A backyard patio, fence and garden will be constructed outside for them to enjoy. A fresh coat of paint and a renovation of the kitchenette available to staff and youth are in the plan as well.

A community center that provides a broad range of vital services including a food pantry, baby pantry, women’s pantry, senior’s pantry, a special needs program for autistic children and a monthly community health and wellness fair with free medical services has seen a surge of residents needing support. The center wishes to repair and renovate its aging, damaged space so it can increase the number of people it’s able to serve.

A complex that promotes inclusion for children and young adults with special needs through various events and activities needs support to build a community garden that will allow people of all abilities to come together and participate in growing produce that will be donated to a local food bank.

A town park named for a Major League Baseball hero and humanitarian seeks to revitalize and update the dilapidated recreation area by installing new, inclusive playground equipment to replace current unsafe and unusable play structures. The new playground will serve to improve recreational opportunities, encourage inclusive play between children of all abilities and ages and revitalize the neighborhood.

A volunteer-run garden that provides produce to local soup kitchens and food pantries to address food insecurity in the local community is seeking help to build a cold-storage room to prevent produce waste. The cold storage space will ensure the bounties of the garden, and the hard work of volunteers, isn’t lost.
