With the Lowe's Hometowns Grant, The Salvation Army's Portland Moore Street Corps (PMSC) will undergo essential painting repairs to protect its buildings from ongoing vandalism. These improvements will create a safer, more welcoming environment, ensuring that the PMSC remains a trusted resource where at-risk individuals and families can find support and stability as a stepping stone toward self-sufficiency.

Community Supported Shelters helps the unhoused in our community rebuild their lives through intentional community, including our Access Center, which provides showers, laundry services, clothing, haircuts, and more. The Lowe’s Hometown Project will provide vital upgrades for our Access Center, including a lean-to cover, propane heaters, storage shed, a dog kennel, and a table. These upgrades will increase the space's efficiency and capacity and make it more accessible and welcoming for those experiencing homelessness in our community.

Quadriplegics United Against Dependency, Inc. is an organization dedicated to the advancement of independence in adults with severe physical disabilities. The Lowe's Hometowns project will updates and improve exterior landscaping and structures at Burnside Station Apartments and Station 162 apartments, which will improve accessibility, and further their mission to see every person with a severe disability have access to affordable housing, personal independence and a life without barriers.

The Salvation Army Veterans and Family Center is a transitional housing center that provides a therapeutic environment for veterans and their families.  The Lowe's Hometowns project will renovate the organization's therapeutic greenhouse to make it a more functional space, including removing and replacing damaged wood, windows and structures. Ventilation, plant racks and heat lighting will also be added to create a nurturing space for plants and people.

The Women’s Residential Center was built in 1970. Operating year-round, the 35-bed substance abuse treatment facility has experienced relentless wear and tear. By updating HVAC, fencing and infrastructure, the WRC can increase the number of clients it serves with a safer, cleaner, calming environment for recovery.

In order to become a sustainable food source for its community, the All Saints Episcopal Church Woodstock Pantry will outfit three food storage containers with electricity, appliances, shelving and lighting. Exterior upgrades include building a permanent patio covering, concrete work, landscaping and paint.

The NextStep Recycling Warehouse is a hub for providing educational opportunities to at risk groups with a focus on donated computer and household electronics. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will upgrade their space with light construction and new furnishings, and also add a handicap restroom.

Outside In works to break the cycles of chronic homelessness, poverty and poor health among Portland’s LGBTQIA+ community, people of color, those experiencing homelessness and the underserved. With this project, Outside In hopes to renovate its Transitional Housing Program (THP) community housing units, including painting, replacing carpet with vinyl flooring, deep cleaning all housing units and hallways, adding new furniture and upgrading appliances.
