The Hudson YMCA Skate Park is a free skate park in St. Croix County Wisconsin, welcoming in over 500 young people each year with the mission of enhancing opportunities for youth and creating a better community for all. With the Lowe’s Community Impact Grant, the skate park will be renovated for the first time in 27 years, including three new large-scale ramps, new skate material, and a safer and freshened look of the park. These renovations will promote safety, connection, and positive growth for the young people of the Hudson community.

The Salvation Army’s mission is to meet human needs without discrimination by providing essential services, including food assistance, to individuals and families facing hardship. With the Lowes Hometown grant funds, the Black Creek, Wisconsin Food Pantry will undergo interior renovations, including repairing walls, replacing flooring, and upgrading windows to create a safer, more efficient, and welcoming space.

The Center for Deaf-Blind Persons (CDBP) is Wisconsin’s only organization dedicated to empowering individuals with dual sensory loss by providing essential training and support for independent living. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, CDBP will renovate its kitchen and create an adaptive community learning space, incorporating accessible cabinetry, tactile pathways, adaptive appliances, and technology to enhance safety and usability.

Hope House of Manitowoc County is a homeless shelter serving women, families, couples and single females that are experiencing homelessness. The Lowe's Hometowns project will upgrade the shelter facility with new paint, floors and cabinets, as well as update fencing and repair and restain the deck.

Serenity Inns provides treatment services to uninsured or underinsured men who are struggling with substance use disorders. The program's unique feature is the Dinner Fellowship, where residents and volunteers gather to share meals. Through Lowe's Hometowns, a renovation of the dining area, kitchen, first floor living and counseling area and two upstairs bathrooms will help residents and employees thrive.

The Guest House provides shelter, housing, education and services to homeless individuals in Milwaukee and is located in an area with limited access to grocery stores. The Lowe's Hometowns project will renovate the shelter's kitchen and revitalize its community gardens to expand access to fresh fruits and vegetables and nutritious meals for the community.

The Salvation Army Homeless Shelter needs significant repairs to make it safe, functional, and livable for those in need. This project will provide a new kitchen for meal preparation, laundry appliances for daily upkeep and a renovation of the shelter’s lobby and common living area.

Amidst a critical housing crisis coupled with an opioid crisis, Lighthouse Recovery’s residences provide safe, affordable housing for those lacking resources or support networks. The Lowe’s Hometowns project includes both interior and exterior work including new energy efficient windows, siding, garage doors, landscaping, and bathroom updates as well as flooring and some kitchen work. These major upgrades would provide safe, affordable housing when it is needed most.

Great Lakes Community Conservation Corps runs the Cooperative Companion Gardening Initiative, created to increase fresh produce available to older military veterans with functional and access challenges. This project would provide free at-home raised bed gardens and consultation, installation and regular maintenance and harvesting assistance from veteran volunteers and local youth.

Covey serves individuals with disabilities and their families by offering respite care, skill-building classes, community engagement programs and connection. Their project would gut and remodel their kitchen.
