Washington Volunteer Fire Department was established in 1879 and its Rescue services were added in 1961 to serve the residents of the City of Washington and the surrounding communities for any and all Fire and Medical Emergencies. The funds from the Lowe’s Hometown Grant will update and renovate the station kitchen with new cabinets, appliances, countertops and flooring. In doing so, this will provide full time staff and dedicated volunteers with a source of comfort for all they do as well as provide the community of Washington, Illinois a gathering place when needed.

The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department is a full-service emergency response agency performing crisis mitigation by offering fire suppression, fire prevention, technical and vehicle rescue, inspection and code enforcement, medical first response with both basic and advanced life support, and public assistance calls.

Town of Cumberland Emergency Medical Services

The Town of Cumberland’s Emergency Medical Services (CEMS) has a 50+ year history of commitment to providing exceptional emergency medical services to the residents and visitors of the Town of Cumberland, Rhode Island. The Lowe’s Hometown grant will provide funding to insure a safe, comfortable, and functional environment to support its 24/7 staff. A new mini-split system, upgraded flooring, and the improvements to the training area will insure our team stays prepared and resilient to serve the community for years to come.

San Dimas Mountain Rescue

The San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team was established in 1955 and has dedicated itself to saving the lives of people who become lost or injured in the San Gabriel Mountains. With the Lowe's Hometowns grant, the team will renovate its existing kitchen with new cabinets and appliances, install new flooring in its classroom and offices, and receive a fresh coat of paint. These renovations will allow our team to offer better facilities to engage our community in wilderness education, first aid/CPR and provide a welcoming space for the team and community.

First Responders Foundation

The mission of the First Responders Foundation is to serve and honor all our First Responders, veterans and their families; build appreciation and respect for their work; and enhance public safety. Lowe’s Hometowns Grant funds will be used to make needed basic repairs and upgrades to the Physical Wellness area of the First Responders Foundation headquarters. 

Ester Volunteer Fire Department

Ester Volunteer Fire Department has provided emergency fire, medical and rescue response to the Ester Fire Service Area and the Fairbanks North Star Borough for over 50 years. The funding received from the Lowe's Hometown grant will allow EVFD to replace essential exterior storage space, upgrade flooring in the training room and refresh the paint and furnishings in the kitchen. These renovations will improve the functionality and comfort of EVFD's Station 51, promoting the well-being and efficacy of its first responders.

Coplay Fire Department

The Coplay Fire Department is an all volunteer fire department served by men and women, as well as members from the LGBTQ+ community. With the Lowe’s Hometown grant, the fire department will build a bunk room for overnight sleeping accommodations, build a kitchen area to include installation of cabinets, counters, oven, sink, refrigerator and microwave. The grant will also be used to pave asphalt in our parking lot. 

City of Billings Fire Department

The City of Billings Fire Department provides outstanding emergency services to the 300,000 residents of Montana's largest metropolitan area. The Lowe's Hometowns grant will fund the interior remodel of Fire Station 5 to replace failing infrastructure and provide private bedrooms and bathrooms for the dedicated firefighters who serve the community 24/7.

Allamuchy-Green First Aid Squad

The Allamuchy-Green First Aid Squad is a fully volunteer emergency medical service dedicated to providing lifesaving care to its community. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the squad will modernize its facility by renovating its meeting room and updating outdated restrooms for improved privacy and functionality, enhancing energy efficiency, and creating a more welcoming space for volunteers. These renovations will help attract and retain members, ultimately improving emergency response times and benefiting the 11,000 residents and thousands of motorists who rely on its services.

An office relocation and full kitchen renovation will create a comforting space to foster connection among volunteers.
