For nearly 40 years, Friendship House has connected people experiencing homelessness in Delaware with vital resources through its empowerment centers, transitional housing program, clothing bank, and seasonal programs. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will fund renovations to the Wilmington Empowerment Center - which serves over 3,000 people annually - enhancing safety, accessibility, and aesthetics by improved lighting, flooring, plumbing, and electricity throughout the center. These upgrades will create a more welcoming and dignified environment—one that fosters hope.
