Project Beacon is dedicated to creating a community of belonging for adults with autism and other neurodiversities by creating inclusive spaces and opportunities that empower individuals to build independence and engage meaningfully in their communities. With support from Lowe’s Hometowns, the organization will enhance the Beacon Access Center by installing durable flooring, improving lighting and communication systems, adding sensory-friendly features, and upgrading accessibility through wayfinding signage and outdoor gathering spaces.

Central Texas Table of Grace provides a nurturing and stable home for children and youth in crisis, where they can heal and thrive through compassionate care and evidence-based programs. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the organization will convert an existing building into a fully equipped mechanics workshop by installing vehicle lifts, durable flooring, ventilation, upgraded electrical systems, and dedicated workstations.

Gladney Center for Adoption

Gladney Center for Adoption’s mission is to create bright futures through adoption. The organization not only helps to facilitate adoption, but also provides advocacy for teen girls in foster care, post-adoption counseling and support and ongoing education. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will replace their HVAC and add revitalize an outdoor space with sports equipment, landscaping and furniture to create a welcoming space for families to gather and connect.

Texoma Family Shelter

Texoma Family Shelter is the only 24-hour living facility in the Texoma region of Texas that shelters individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The Lowe's Hometowns project will include a kitchen renovation, including new countertops, lighting, flooring, appliances, as well as refinished cabinets with new hardware will expand the organization's capacity to prepare and serve food for its residents.

Over the past 16 years, Friends of Tietze Park Foundation has championed the enhancement and preservation of Tietz Park. Through Lowe's Hometowns, the park will be upgraded with new garden beds, borders, pathways, a new picnic table slab, new plants, irrigation, amended soil and signage; all to create a harmonious and visually appealing space that brings joy to this community.

The Salvation Army of Amarillo Harrington Hope Center is a shelter that provides a warm bed, meal and shower as well as case management and community resources. As laundry facilities keep the shelter up and running, this project will upgrade laundry appliances in the men’s, women’s and family shelter areas.

Aid the Silent

Aid the Silent will make major improvements to better serve deaf and hard-of-hearing children. New sidewalks will ensure students with additional disabilities can access the building. In the wake of plumbing issues, a new patio and playground are needed for teens working with mentors and parents in between their children’s audiology appointments. A stage will allow for family movie nights and community events that currently host over 100 families with hearing loss every single month.

African American Museum of Dallas

The African American Museum has a been a beacon of light for sharing and preserving the African American experience in the DFW Metroplex. The new courtyard will have diverse plantings around the edges and the interior of the courtyard will become an intimate space appropriate for a variety of events and educational programming. The courtyard will receive a planting and irrigation upgrade.

The Austin Street Center provides safe shelter and meets the basic needs of the most vulnerable homeless. This project would include addressing the critical needs of an aging facility, including new flooring, insulation and roofing for its Administration Building and painting for the Sisterhood Program's Facility.
