Their project entails renovating a vacant building to create permanent affordable housing for existing community members. The property is currently established as a three-unit building.

The organization also needs two new washers and dryers to help homeless mothers wash clothing, and they would like to add pantry shelving for families to take nonperishable meals home.

Rebuilding Together of Alexandria/Washington, D.C. seeks to revitalize the Fort Stanton Recreation Center's three outdoor gardening areas. Each area was once well-maintained by the Department of Parks and Recreation and community stakeholders who were committed to the idea of sustainability and sufficiency. But COVID-19 sent everyone home, all areas became unused and unmaintained, and funding priorities shifted for the Department.

St. Francis House is a daytime shelter with permanent supported housing, where the shower and bathroom facilities are deteriorating as they have not been upgraded since their initial installation in 1997. Functionality, efficiency, and accessibility is impaired, presenting safety concerns. Upgrades will transform the space, providing modern, high-quality, accessible facilities for all residents.
