Canopy Village is North Idaho’s only crisis respite and emergency shelter for youth, also providing residential treatment and family support services. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the facility will remove old flooring, mask windows, paint interior walls, and replace worn vinyl and carpet throughout its 35-year-old residential home, which serves up to twelve children at a time.

Camp Rendezvous Veteran Housing and Work Center provides temporary housing and supportive services for veterans, helping them break cycles of homelessness. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the organization will create spaces for therapeutic activities, skill-building workshops, and community connections. This project will empower veterans to heal, grow, and reintegrate into society.

Brookings Public Library

The mission of the Brookings Public Library is to inspire curiosity and discovery, advance knowledge, and strengthen the Brookings community through diverse and inclusive collections, services, and programs. Through the Lowe’s Hometown Grant program, the Library will give a much-needed update to shelving in both the Children’s Area and the Teen Space, while also creating a distinctive and engaging experience in each area with visual updates. These updates will ensure children, families, and teens have safe, welcoming, and engaging spaces at the Brookings Public Library.

Breakthrough Urban Ministries, Inc.

Breakthrough has provided shelter, food, education, youth development, employment support, and behavioral health services in East Garfield Park for over 25 years, serving more than 20,000 individuals annually. With support from the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the Breakthrough FamilyPlex will undergo renovations, including resealed gym flooring, new wall padding, and fresh paint in several classrooms and community spaces. These upgrades will create a safer, more engaging environment for educational programs and activities for youth and families.

Head Start Inc. provides comprehensive services for young children and their families to achieve school readiness and lifelong success. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, we will remove unsafe playground structures, install new play equipment and surfacing, add two greenhouses for year-round gardening, build storage sheds to protect outdoor play and gardening materials, and add two "buddy" benches. These improvements will create a safer, more inclusive, and engaging space where children can learn, grow, and thrive through active outdoor play and hands-on learning experiences.

Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA

The YMCA of Delaware’s mission is to empower youth, foster healthy living, and promote strong communities. With support from the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the Bear-Glasgow Y is able to complete safety and accessibility enhancements to the Ninja Obstacle Course at our recently state-licensed Camp Cassey. Work will involve adding elements to the course and installing a shade system to ensure a safe, inclusive experience for all campers.

Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads

Patriot’s Pantry at the Armed Services YMCA of Hampton Roads has been serving the largest concentration of military-connected individuals in the nation for the past 5 years out of a converted storage closet. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the organization will install new cabinetry, shelving, countertops, flooring, fresh paint and a handicap-accessible pantry door. These renovations will allow much greater storage space, alleviate the need to rent storage units, create a more welcoming atmosphere for patrons, and allow expansion of capacity to serve these brave families.

America’s VetDogs

America’s VetDogs, a national nonprofit organization, provides service dogs to veterans, active-duty military, and first responders with physical and emotional disabilities free of charge, empowering them to Live Without Boundaries. With this grant from Lowe’s Hometowns, America's VetDogs will renovate the first floor of its administration building—revitalizing its lobby, classrooms, meeting spaces, student dining area, and training lounge to create a more functional and accessible space.
