Following the 2016 Pulse Nightclub tragedy, The LGBT+ Center Orlando, Inc. became the hub for not only the LGBTQ community, but for everyone. The organization offers free services to youth and seniors, including health screenings, mental health counseling and more. The Lowe's Hometowns project includes updates to the building including a ramp, ADA doors, roof repair, carpet, exterior lighting, structural repairs, interior and exterior paint and new cubicles.

Through Lowe's Hometowns, the PODER HQ outdoor plaza will receive a community mural and landscaping as a symbol of all the vital, inspiring work that is being done. PODER’s deep commitment to Spanish-speaking immigrants, newly arrived migrants, and Latino/Hispanic residents with integrated English and career pathway programming will be reflected in this powerful mural.

Laury's Station Fire Company No. 1 will have their space upgraded with new bathrooms, a new entry way and kitchen in the station's social hall. As a second home to many members, the renovation through Lowe's Hometowns will create an even more welcoming space for volunteers who choose to selflessly serve their community.

Promise Community Homes serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through Lowe's Hometowns, this life changing facility will be made more accessible by updating pathways, moving and replacing trees, shrubs and signage, updating lighting and installing benches. All these changes will make it easier for those with disabilities to safely get to the community center for activities and connection.

Jean’s Angels helps over 1,500 veterans, homeless individuals, senior citizens and youth monthly. The Lowe's Hometowns project will help Jean's Angels achieve their vision to repurpose, operate and fully staff a building to provide outreach services. The project will help build a 1,000 square foot addition to the current building.

Quadriplegics United Against Dependency, Inc. is an organization dedicated to the advancement of independence in adults with severe physical disabilities. The Lowe's Hometowns project will updates and improve exterior landscaping and structures at Burnside Station Apartments and Station 162 apartments, which will improve accessibility, and further their mission to see every person with a severe disability have access to affordable housing, personal independence and a life without barriers.

Jane Addams Resource Corporation’s Aspire Center for Workforce Innovation is a project that was envisioned and driven by the Austin community. The state-of-the-art facility will provide access to free career training and support services. The Lowe's Hometowns project will help complete a workforce training hub and include installing electrical, drywall, painting and flooring.

QUEERSPACE collective understands how important it is for LGBTQ teens to have a community as they navigate into adulthood. Through Lowe's Hometowns, the construction of a community hangout space for LGBTQIA+ youth including a main gathering space, lounge and kitchen will create a home for youth to meet, collaborate and feel safe and seen.

International Center of Kentucky

The project will create a safe, comfortable and inclusive environment and provide a sense of community for immigrant and refugee individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma.

Following the devastating wildfires that struck Maui in August of 2023, 2,000 homes were lost. With 4,000 people currently living in shelters, housing solutions are in demand. The Lowe's Hometowns grant will provide funding to establish the infrastructure (grading, paving, solar power) for a community of tiny homes to be used as temporary housing, as well as the installation of the first two tiny homes on the property and be a reprieve for the horrible and inadequate conditions this community is facing.
